About the Rising Stars Program
Launched in 2025, the Rising Stars program is a premier initiative of the Atlantic Hockey Group, inspired by the success of our Young Guns program. This program features top players from the Female Prospects Series across New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland. Designed to challenge players in a competitive and collaborative setting, Rising Stars brings together talent from across the region—allowing players from different teams to become teammates. Held in August, the program is ideal for families looking to combine high-level hockey with a summer getaway, while also preparing players for upcoming minor hockey tryouts. Offered at a cost comparable to a typical hockey school, Rising Stars includes a full training camp and tournament experience with elite-level competition. Teams are selected by a dedicated committee of evaluators and coaching staff.
Tournaments
The Atlantic Hockey Group is always searching for high-level summer tournaments to provide our Rising Stars teams with the optimal hockey experience. Final tournament selection will be made after consulting with our teams to determine the best fit. Level of competition and exposure is considered.
Coaching Staff
Each team will be led by a head coach and two assistant coaches. The team coaching staff, with the support of the Atlantic Hockey Group, will structure training camps with the objective of developing team systems and specialized individual training for our players. The final team rosters will comprise of nine forwards, six defencemen, and two goalies.
Training Camp
The training camp will take place normally one or two weekends prior to the tournament. Players will receive 6 hours of on-ice training.Training camps are generally held in either Moncton or Halifax. The objective of training camp is to develop team systems and strategies, and to provide specialized training for forwards, defencemen, and goaltenders. A goaltending instructor is present for on-ice training sessions.
